Participation in the Appalachian Service Project (ASP) is more than just helping families repair their homes in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. ASP is an outreach ministry where folks of all ages deepen their understanding of the teachings of Jesus Christ. EVERY participant is held accountable to both this covenant, and that of ASP Headquarters, as a sign of their commitment to the ministry of God.

I understand that team members will be selected by the level of their participation in all activities, their ability to work in a team setting, and their openness to spiritual growth.

I understand that participation in ASP meetings and worship services in my church are designed to help me understand the culture of the Appalachian people and to grow in my Christian faith. Those team members who are living away from home will be required to fulfill alternative activities.

I understand that I will practice important construction and safety skills before our

trip departure.

I understand that each youth participant will pay a registration fee of $200.00 (nonrefundable*) as a member of the traveling team. I also pledge to participate in all fund-raisers, if I chose no to participate, I understand that I will be required to financially support ASP as follows: Car Washes and Other Fundraisers $35, Pizza Sale $60. Fundraisers help us meet our est. $25,000 budget.

I understand that adult participants will pay a registration fee of $200.00 (nonrefundable*) as a member of the traveling team. I also pledge to participate in all fund-raisers, if I chose no to participate, I understand that I will be required to financially support ASP as follows: Car Washes and Other Fundraisers $35, Pizza Sale $60. Fundraisers help us meet our est. $25,000 budget.

I understand that repeated failure to participate in, or communicate an approved absence to the designated ASP Leader prior to scheduled ASP activities, can result in my not going on the trip.

I understand that a payment plan can be arranged if I am not able to pay the fee as per the schedule.

I pledge to share my ASP experience with others as a way of uplifting God-in-action.

I understand that participation in worship is a vitally important way to grow in my

relationship with God and my Christian discipleship. As a youth or adult, I pledge to worship regularly (at least three times a month) at Denville Community Church or another Christian church.

* Both youth and adult applicants will be refunded $200.00 if we have a full number of participants and an appropriate substitute can be found to take their place.
